loved it and loved the story it was very interesting, and very relatable for me when it got to that they only love a version of you part, overall this is a very enjoyable short but fun game with an interesting story, along with calming music while playing
In general I liked the story and as something unimportant like seeing a pile of floating rocks seems like something unimportant and then it is revealed that it was important for the mechanical being because it was something that had caused her curiosity for the first time in a monotonous job. I find it interesting that the search for a new body is an analogy to transsexuality and shows the fear that the people one loves will reject the new version of someone because it clashes with their previous ideas of what that person should be.
this is short and sweet (and very beautifully rendered) but also i'm looking at it and trying to tally up the amount of work it must have taken to make bitsy do this, as an engine, which i have an immense amount of respect for. love it!
Not really a game, it's just a short story over a single pixel art image. No interactivity other than advancing the text.
It's fine, but it's maybe 5 minutes worth of content. 10 if you read slow ig.
It also seems strange that you spend the whole thing talking about how you can have any body you want and then end it by pointlessly gendering an artificial intelligence? I don't like that.
Re: your last paragraph, you're welcome to whatever interpretation you have even if it doesn't gel with my authorial intent, but for context, I wrote this story to process my fear over coming out to my family shortly before I actually did it. The robot being gendered at the end of the story sort of is the whole point. On the outside she's a box lacking any gendered signifiers, and most people would probably default to referring to her as "it" or "they", but nonetheless, she's a she. Her ability to self-designate that way is integral to her newfound autonomy in exactly the same way as her desire to attain a new body is. They're intertwined.
Hey weird question, but would you be at all interesting in collaborating to port this game to the NES? I'm currently experimenting with a NES visual novel engine and this game would look extremely good in it.
If you wanna see how the engine runs, you can see the game I'm working on here:
Striking, beautiful art, and a well-executed plotline. The endings moral hit home for me, since I struggle with constantly wanting to escape or leave my current situation instead of standing my ground and acknowledging what's wrong. I loved everything about it :)
i don't usually post comments, but the 10 minutes i spent with this game was really special. the narrative really resonated with me as a trans person, and i feel a little braver because of it. this is easily one of my favorite vns i've ever played, thank you for making it.
excellent game! it's amazing what was made with just 3 images, 2 colors, and 1 song. overall great game and presentation, but i'm not surprised given who made it
Super great. Both melancholic and cute, with well written, organic dialog. And given the short length of your story and the minimal setting, you managed to show an expanded world filled with anecdotes and that's super impressive.
Wow! What a great little story! Amazing job hacking the image to be extra wide. I really loved your minimal use of color which reflects the trans themes that your story explores.
yes, I had to edit a few places in the game file where the canvas/map size is set and then manually add in all the tiles to the right of where a default-sized bitsy room would usually end. increasing the resolution like that seems like it might break a few things, but fortunately none of it is noticeable in a game like this!

Without a doubt a very interesting story.
Love the art style and the comfy music!
I very much enjoyed how the story was presented.
I had to read it a second time through to understand the theme (with some help from the comments section ^^;).

well great story about discover saturn
nice art, tho there could be a little more of it. Cute story and dialogue too, rather poignant and I like the world building-would want to see more!

Excellent. The music and art really help set the tone.
A pretty magical bit of framing on some pretty difficult, potentially scary stuff.

This was adorable and surprisingly deep--thanks for the experience! Keep it up!
I loved the aesthetic of this and the music, considering the length the story is also extremely good
